dry ice effects

We are growing in a closet in a room with no air conditioner and the temperature is consistently around 90 degrees... we thought we could use dry ice to help cool down the closet so we placed the block on a bucket about 3 feet from the plants and have a fan blowing the gas into the grow area... does anybody know if this a good idea???

Umm.....I wouldn't do it. There is no way to effectively manage temperature with something that is negative whatever the heck it is.

ive got good ventalation in the closet. i have a 6" can fan through a filter but the temps outside and outisde the closet are around that temp so its not able to get colder than that cause we dont have central ac. i just tried closing the closet and setting it on a wall fan and just blowing it in the room. temps around 75. not sure how long the ice will last though. and its puttin out co2 so it cant be bad can it?

You want a sure fire way to make those temps ok.....buy a tank.

Get a c02 tank and regulator. First what kind of lights are you using? Do you have vented hood? CFL? HPS?

yeah thats a good idea. if you cant drop ur temps up the co2 with a tank and reg. plants generally can withstand higher temps with more co2.

it does help to cool the space down, but that is not a efficient way to cool down your grow space, you'll lose alot of money.

it doesn't i've done it before it and does bring temp and also humidity down, not major tho.
ok which is it? It does or doesnt'?

Looks like i'm bring an old thread back to life. Dry ice is a cool concept. And shit i'm in the same exact situation. My mother room is 90-95 degrees now that it summer, the room i was getting the cool air from is now warm. Did you ever get this taken care of or does anyone have some suggestions?
