i was wondering if dry ice would be a good substitute for the tank and also if the natural occurring sublimation(solid-gas) is easily regulated
thanks for you inputs -Inmyswish

i've used dry ice. no way to regulate it. just buy what you will use. i put it in a cooler and it melted slower. i put it in metal bowl and it melted quicker. ymmv.

a tank is alot better and isnt dry ice pricey after awhile? id try yeast and vinegar befor i did dry ice just my opinion

You can regulate it , I used a styrofoam cooler with the right amount of holes in it . Hung it above my light but it,s kinda pointless unless you feel like making a trip to pick up dry ice every day . It did lower the temp in my cab a couple degrees though which was cool because it was the middle of summer .
