Droopy leaves and some yellow burn!! wtf?!

[Yes, this is my first grow. Im using mg organic potting mix, six 23 watt cfls for lighting, box is properly ventilated w/ 2 exhaust and an intake fan as well as a fan for air circulation, my temp is 81 max, usually around 79, my humidity is 35% at the highest. My plant is 3 weeks and 1 day old. Im not using any nutes. The plant is in a 3 gallon bucket with drain holes. I moved the lights about 6 inches away from the top of the plant because I thought it might be drying it out. The plant feels very dry, the leaves are constantly droopy. Im also having a problem with the bottom leaves getting light green splotches and drying up in certain spots. I dont have a ph meter, yea I know, Its on my list. The leaves are also creasing slightly upwards. Ive been watering every couple of days, only used tap water twice. The soil dries out really fast, but Ive been trying not to give it too much water because I know what they say about overwatering. The roots are already coming out of the bottom of the bucket so I would think it was getting adequate water. Any suggestions? FYI: the lowest set of fan leaves were burned pretty bad and I trimmed them off, They were sitting on the soil where I didnt want them anyway. My camera sux and wouldnt show the light green spots, sorry!!

i believe its ur planta(strong seed) reacting to the ph now weaker seeds wouldve should ph problems by now

welll u have to get a ph tester asap its lookin good though
did u top it?

believe after 3rd to 4th node u should give it somenutes im talking like1.5ml of nutes
but well never know until the ph is there


how do u water them? the way u do it may contribute
 
yea man, I topped it last weekend. I guess you could say its a strong seed, its just some good bagseed. Its growin great though, just droopy as hell. Im watering just by pouring the water out of a bottle evenly around the bucket. ive only given it enough water to run out of the bottom of the bucket once. That could be my prob. Thanks for tha feedback mane!

how often do u water in a wat size pot with good dreain holes?
 
Its in a 3 gal bucket with about 25 small holes covering the bottom. The soil gets really dry, i stick my finger down in it about 2 inches before I water and its always pretty dry. I started out feeding it a bottle of water every other day and now im thinking I should get it on a different schedule.

Why not stick your fingers in the soil? I use mine to scratch up the top 1/2 inch or so before I water, good for the roots, helps them breath.
 
I was using .5 liter bottles of water, regular size bottles of water. I just didnt want to use tap water and wanted to give it a consistent ammount. Since then, I watered it yesterday until i had a small ammount of runnoff, probably a cup or two worth. I dont have a problem with my finger in the soil, i dont stick it in by the stem or anything.
 
everytime u stick ur finger in a pot ur only compressing the lower area more n more causing a stunt on a certain area of the plant where the root provides the energy

.5 lt for a 3 gal plant is not enough. You have just been getting the top 1/2 or so wet, releasing nutes each time. The roots searching are doing just that. Searching for plain water. You cant flush, will just release more nutes. Just need to begin good watering habits and ride out the storm. A few weeks and a bit of nute burn later bet you will be ready to flower.:bigjoint:

I use Bud Candy, it has micronutrients in it. Rated at 0-0-1. When i water with that added my plants salute me. Which means they perk upwards. Bud Candy is supposed to be used during the flowering cycle, but it helps during the veg cycle too.

Additionally, I water my plants till water comes out the bottom. This way I know for sure that everything is getting nutrient water.

lol im just trying to convinve him to lift pot to check weight than finger thing for future beneficial use

i definately wont stick my ssausage size fingers in a 6"pot with a week old seedling to check water would u? i want my soil as airy as possiible
 
Your humidity is to low for veg, should be at least at 50-60%. From they're appearance it's a watering issue. From what you've told us it's underwatered, probably due to low humidity and just a lack of watering. Distilled or purified water would both be better than tap. Try watering more consistantly while still letting your soil dry out still between waterings, should raise your humidity too.

The reverse cupping is do to one of two thing, or both, high heat stress or light stress. If you can not get the room temp down use some silicon supplement @ 1ml per gallon this will allow your plant to handle higher temps.
If the leaves still cup up move the light higher for a couple of days if it stops then you know it it was both.

The light green splotches and damage is do to not enough N in the soil. The plant is not maintain chlorophyll. Without chlorophyll, you'll have no photosynthesis going on.

To check the moisture stick you finger in the dirt all the way up to the second knuckle, if you feel moisture it still good. If you have roots growing out of the bottom of the 3 gal pot you may have over watered and the roots chased the water strait to the bottom.
Pull the plant out of the bucket and see if the whole dirt pack is held in place by the roots and not just the bottom. If all the roots are at the bottom you need to put you plant in a 5 gal bucket and learn to use your finger.

As for PH water for soil, most good brands of soil will ph buffer the water. Even miracle grow soil ph buffers.

What type of soil mixture do you have?

Does you plant act like it has stunted growth?

If it has a lot of peat moss add 3ml dawn dish soap to your water and it will help retain moisture and balance out the soil.

:shock::wall:

Roots do not provide energy, they only uptake food. The leaves do this little thing called photosynthesis and this make energy for the plant to live on.
