Ok my plants are about 2 weeks old and the leaves keep drooping down and one looks really bad. I dont know what im doing wrong. The lights about a inch away and I have a fan on them. I dont water them too much just when the soil is dry. This is the second time this is happening and I dont know why. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

When you water does water come out the bottom of the pot? If not then you could have a build up of salts and old nutrients in the middle of the pot. That is what I believe happened to me.

Photos and more information would be great.

What size container is it in?
Any yellowing?
Have you given it any nutrients?
What is the pH of your water?
What kind of pH balancing solution are you using?

the containers are about 6 inches wide and i havent given it any nutes yet and i dont test the ph level. but it seems like they just grow to be 3 or 4 inches and then droop so bad they die. i watered a lot of i thought it was over watering but then i waited a couple days before watering and it did the same things. i dont kno how much water im supposed to use each time i water. i really new to this and its not goin to well for me.

Try watering about every other day. Not a huge amount of water. 4 or 5 oz. maybe. I don't worry about all the ph testing either, what kind of soil do you have them in?

Give me one good reason why he shouldn't worry about his pH level. If your water is too acidic or too alkaline it will kill your plants in no time. Expecially if there only seedlings. Call around to gardening shops and see if any of them sell pH identifying concentrate. Comes in a little bottle and a test vial. Costs no more then 8 dollars, will last you your entire grow then some.

You should water until water comes out the bottom of your pot. If you do not have holes in your pots, put some in it. Four, one inch long by a half inch tall holes should be sufficient. If you do not do this salt's will build up in your soil creating a nasty acidic environment for your roots which will choke them and eventually kill your plants. This process is sped up during the seedling stage because seedlings do not have much in the way of a root system so any minor variation from optimum could kill them quite rapidly.

Also if you are using tap water be sure you let it sit in an open container for 24-48 hours to let the chlorine evaporate off.

You overwatered them it sounds like. And what kind of light is only an inch from the seedlings? Read a book. This is what your plant is supposed to look like after 14 days.

water when the pots feel light...try filling a empty pot with dry soil, same soil mix you are using already, then lift that pot up with one hand and your plant in the other. if the one with the plant in it feels heavier, then don't water...but if they feel almost the same. water.........another fool proof method is to move the top layef of soil away in one spot and if it's dry one half inch under the surface. water!!!to me bro it sound like they are sitll getting too much water...pix would be nice though!

alright thanks for the replies. im using miracle grow and ive heard that its bad but then i heard its not so i dont really kno. i dont think im watering enought cuz there is never water coming out the bottom and there are plenty of holes in the bottom.

You have a build up of salt's in your soil and your soil is probably filled with time release nutrients. Which is bad. Which is why most people don't go with MG. The reason time released is bad is because it releases nutrients every time you water and flushing is sometimes required to clear out the soil of old nutrients and salt's. If you flush in MG its going to release TONS of nutrients.

Check to see if your soil has time released nutrients. The bag would say if it does. If it does then you should buy new soil and transplant your seedlings into new soil and give them a good flush.

If your soil does NOT have time released nutrients then give them a good flushing. Flush the pots with your next watering till water pours out the bottom of the pot.

yeah i think i have the wrong soil cuz it says it keeps feeding for 3 months. its the new miracle grow that says the plants will grow to double the size as other soils

I used Indoor/Outdoor miracle grow with 3 months of feeding in the past with excellent results. Of course I recommend Fox Farm Soil, look at my avatar picture, that beast was in fox farm soil. And is also what I currently use, expensive stuff but can increase yield, and quality. I'm not sure whats going on with your setup, still sounds like over watering. If I could see a photo I could tell you right away what the problem is.

that poor little 2week old plant...damn giving it big time food like that miracle gro, is like trying to give steroids to a baby..i would get it in some new soil, like light warrior or something mild....and like hommie said if you flush you're just goona end up in worse shape.....good luck afro!!...i'm pulling for you two!!!
