Double Potting?

Can I get some advice on this method. Is it good, does it work, results...etc. Or should I just transplant into a bigger pot(currently 3gal)
Reason being I believe she may become root bound and Im 2 weeks into flower.

It works great. No stress on the plant like a transplant and gives the roots more room to grow.
