dont know what is wrong... help please....

This plant was grown outdoor at my buddys house. The leaves are very ruff and bumpy and the edge of the leaves are curled upward. Does anyone know what the plant might have and how to fix it? Please help or should I toss it.

What temps is it running out side looks hot since the plant is curling to help conserve water. Put it in the shade during the hottest part of the day if the temps are < 90*F
