Domestic Head Shop Questions

I want to open a Domestic Head shop. I am under the impression that is its fully legal as long as everything is labeled as "for tobacco use only".
Yet I don't want to invest in a website and in product only to risk a run in with the law. I want everything to be perfectly legal and legit.

SO. . . how would I go about this?
- I know about the for tobacco use only label
- I know certain states (especially Pennsylvania and Iowa) and certain county's are 100% illegal to ship to and I can avoid that
- I know about Operation Pipe Dreams but the feds had to get the Cali based shop to ship somewhere illegal first right? So if I avoid that I should be fine right?
But what else would I need to know so I don't get raided?

And also I want this to be all about the customer satisfaction, so what as buyers would you like to see in a Domestic Head Shop as far as site features, shipping features... etc.

BTW I know I will need to contact a lawyer to get the FULL scope of the legality issues with what I'm wanting to do, but I want to see what the users of rollitup think first.

Look in the Yellow Pages. "Attorneys". I'm well over 60. Screw what anybody other than a lawyer says. Tell me this - if the cops busted you would you delay talking to a lawyer to see what pinheads in here think?

I'm with hotrod on this. Lawyer it, it pays to pay at times. Or speak to people who are in the industry. Call a growshop in your state but in another city....

Glassware at reasonable prices is always a seller if quality is good and delivery is quick. I built and sold custom electric guitars as a sideline for many years. Sold over 1500 on eBay before I told them to kiss the bag. If you screw people on shipping you might not get another chance to sell to them. I always gave a nice strap, a set of pro strings in .009 and .010 unless requested otherwise and an assortment of picks along with a cable. I shipped within the times I stated I would and provided tracking by email when it was shipped. These days text messages would suffice if a hyperlink.

No stupid requests for photo IDs. Just a self-declaration that they are the legal age or older to buy tobacco related products in their home state. Or ask their birth date and verify by state to avoid any bullshit from 50 states' AGs. If you sell overseas you might insist on PayPal with delivery confirmation by signature. I refuse to ship to Indonesia. Shit becomes illegal on sight by some Muslim inspector.

Back to product - had my own Harley shops 3 times. Money losing motherfuckers. Bikers then were broke tramps, not these payment assholes on their choppers who have never turned a wrench on anything. ANYWAY T-shirts are always a seller. Find a custom screen printer near you and maybe some talented high school kid to design some killer shirts. People will go to a run and go home with nothing they didn't come with if not a new t-shirt.
