doing 12/12 from seed with CFLs, can i switchh?

My plant is ab 6 weeks old and i wanted to know if i can switch my lights to 18hrs on/6 off if its been on 12/12 lights from seedling?

lol yea :/ ive read lots of articles but my question is that if i change the light cycle now what will happen?? i want it to grow faster
 
i will revert to veg again and add 2-4 weeks. 12/12 is for after the plant has grown to a size worth putting into flower.
