Dog attack!

My boyfriend has run into the house shouting that he's been bitten by a dog. It happened to be a dog who has displayed aggression in the street when I'm with my dog and its brother has actually attacked my dog. It's half collie and half shepherd.

He only went into a shop to buy a bag of sugar and it has bitten him in the leg when he walked out. We need to go and get a tetanus at the hospital really.

I went over the road to hurle abuse and it tried to go for me too! I was quick though and managed to kick it in the face before he even pulled it back! I told him he didn't have control, where is the muzzle etc.

Anyway I phoned the police and they came out to deal with it. They spoke to the owner and checked the dog had been vaccinated. How many more people has it got to bite before its reported? Next it'll be a kid.

We are not going to make an official complaint but it has been noted for future reference. The police said the owner is really worried abt the consequences so I'm glad I've done it.

Some of the neighbours were saying I've got a pitbull but I was like "my dog wasn't even there and never have I had problems with him". They said it was because my bf smelt of my dog. So what? He was in the public street without our dog.

Anything like this happen to you?

Notice how the dickhead is actually wearing the lead and still couldn't control it!

I would have walked indoors, got a baseball bat n gone back n sorted it myself , especially if it has happened with this dog before etc
That's why I kicked it in the face, and then he only pulled it back to protect it from me! No, next time I'll pull his front legs apart. He didn't reprimand the dog when it attacked my bf either!

It's also a neighbour so I had to deal with it correctly.. I'll expect to see it with a muzzle from now on!

Maybe put the muzzle on the Dog's master & kick him in the nuts . I'm guessing the dick head has on several occasions abused & beaten the dog & let the Dog control him & now the dog is the Alpha . The guy doesn't look like the Brightest Bulb on the tree . Good Luck and I would let the law sort it all out with the dickhead .

I got bitten as a young kid and it caused me to fear dogs well into my late teens. Now I can't imagine life without my dog.
The only good thing here is at least the dog that bit your boyfriend was vaccinated. If the owner can't control the dog he doesn't need to take it out in public. Sounds like he needs a lesson in dog ownership and then a good ole fashioned ass whipping.
Where I live I would estimate that 50 to 60 percent if not more of the animals aren't vaccinated!

If you feel the dog may attack others, especially children, why wouldn't you make an official report?

Could you live with yourself knowing someone could be have been saved from being mauled to death or becoming disfigured had you have done the right thing for the people around you rather than sympathizing with a dog known to be aggressive?

its not the dogs fault, he was raised by a wanker.if u going to kick any thing make surs its the owner
I completely agree with both of you.

That dog had as much chance of turning out to be a nice obedient dog (like mine) but they ruined it by lack of training.

This is why I called the police, so that he would have to take some sort of responsibility.

To all those neighbours who tried to say it was a good dog, I agree that next time it could be their kid! It's the owners fault completely. He should be using a muzzle so that fact that it's bitten a person and not another dog is appalling!

I think I mentioned this before, but i was bitten/mauled in the face by a german shepherd when i was in the eighth grade. That german sheperd was a retired sherriffs dog. Pretty obedient you would think. Gave the dog a piece of pizza, went into my buddies room and took some bong rips, on the way back outside I came down to him and said "goooooood boooooy" and then Ruff! Bit my lower lip real bad.
Again this was a retired attack trained sherriffs dog. Some dogs are just fucked up in the head. :-(

It's awful that that happened to you. Sounds like 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. The dog shouldn't have attacked you, I think it was feeling threatened coz you leaned over it. However it knew you and shouldn't have done that, regardless of you being in his territory. My dogs wouldnt do that to someone.

What did they do to the dog? Did they reprimand it?

If i would have made a police report, i'm sure that dog, Josh, would have been destroyed. My mom wanted to sue, but I convinced her that it isn't cool to do that to your best friend.
That "best friend" later on in life was bangin my wife(we were serperated but) while i was in jail. I wish we would have sued the shit out of them!

Reporting an incident is the first step. What guarantee did you have that the owner listened to you? Was it with a muzzle after that? What if it bit one of your 5 kids next? Threats aren't enough.

Was it not enough that I kicked it in the face when it went for me? What did you actually do to the dog that went for you? Nothing? Had words only with the owner?

You know we could've easily beaten him up but we live over the road. He is now seriously scared of us, according to the police and its our choice not to take it further.

Our actions today could've saved a child being mauled. These retards around here listen to the police and it's been recorded. Next time he's in big trouble. This is how you deal with things in a civil manner.
