I would say that the last 2 weeks certainly aren't the BIGGEST growing weeks like a lot of people claim, but there is substantially swelling between weeks 6-9. So if your plant takes 9 weeks to flower I would say that yes, the swell between week 7 and nine is pretty big.

The thing is that if it takes 11 weeks, I haven't seen the huge swell between 9 and 11 while it's reaching potency. Feels like I'm just staring at trichomes and waiting. Buds aren't necessarily getting a whole lot bigger. The Calyx's do swell a bit more and the bud puts on density and hardness more than anything else.

Yes undoubtably! the last two weeks is when alot of the weight through resin and bud formation is put on but its all about preferance. personally i would bide my time and go for the bigguns!!!!!!

yes keep them coming guys, nice to hear different opinions based on personal experience.

i agree with the poster who said about if flowering for 8wks or 14 weeks, it does differ.

I've noticed that the last 2 weeks make a lot of difference. Different strains react differently of course, but generally the calyxs swell and the buds become denser and pack on weight. I've also noticed a potency difference as well, as I've smoked early bud before, and you can tell it's immature and not quite as potent as if it had been allowed to finish a couple more weeks. I'm referring to weeks 6-8, or 7-9, because I've never grown anything indoors that's taken me longer than 9 weeks. They're out there of course, it's just that I prefer a shorter flowering period.

I definitely agree that immature bud isn't nearly as potent (as in picked a couple of weeks early). I would say it puts on some weight during those last couple of weeks, but more importantly it gets a lot more potent and really gives us what we want. I don't want big flowers, I want strong flowers.

I mean, both is better, but when it comes down to it, I'm growing THC, not plant material.

i am the original poster,

right i have heard a fiew replies and im gunna give my bit, this is what i find through my experience.

wk 6 - able to be smoked but tricks r mostly clear hence a small high.

wk 7 - getting bigger, little harder(dence) smoke is getting better tricks r turning cloudy.

wk 8 - cylaxes swollen and adding to weight and size, tricks are more visible and more prominent, smoke is a lot more potent and heavy hitting, tricks r turning mostly amber.

so yes im my own opinion the last 2 weeks the buds to swell a lot more, cylaxes and tricks look more prominent all adding to size and density, at week 7-8 thats when the THC beggins to activate, bringing the stone were all after, and remember the THC carries on activating through the curing process, if dried vorrectly and cured for long enough, ur bud will be killer.

thats only my opinion on my own experience, i am far from an expert:joint:

Good man.

I've tested from one extreme to the other.
I couldn't have described as accurate.
Drying a bud @ 6 weeks-and so on.

Ive even tried almost 3 months for an Indica type, bagseed till the point the leaves were light bleached.

do u think indicas get much better (more potent) after 8 or 9 weeks?? ive heard that the THC starts to degrade in the light after that period as the plant has already reached its full potential!!

it does sound logical as the flower period is only serposed to be 8-9weeks for most indicaz??

any1??:peace:

In my experience,Overripe does'nt mean stonier. There is a point where it drops out.

Her sisters were pulled earlier and were Way stonier.

bringing this up to date, checked my bitches today and they are realy starting to get dence, the buds r real hard, actualy these r the most dence buds ive grown to date, so yes the last 2 weeks does make a difference to yeild, with a bit of size increase but more importantly denceness in the bud, that counts for a lot of final weight dry.

the buds are turning a tint of golden colour, thats telling me their at the beginning of the end, yeepeeeeeee.

The bud in my pic did that in the last 2 weeks. This strain looks like crap till week 6 and then by week 8 they look like the one in the pic. So yeah the last 2 weeks make a diffrents.
