Does it matter which is the mother and father

Lets say you are breeding two different strains together... Does it matter if strain A is the father and Strain B is the mother or if you want something specific out of the offspring should it be picked carefully? Like instead making Strain B the father and Strain A the mother? I hope it makes sense. Random question that popped in my head.

yes, it does. no 2 plants are equal, males and females will pass the "same genetics" from a strain of your choice, but you need a keen eye to pick a male, that shows traits and shows its sex late. get a male that show's its sex later than the females and that is a good candidate for some dank.

you want your female to be the plant that you're trying the most to breed for. it's daughters will get most of their traits from her and the males from the father, though you should get close to 50:50 representation in your first generation. that's the ONLY difference between jack herer & super silver haze. SSH is more indica because it has NL#5 as the final mother. otherwise, the two strains have the exact same parent strains.

your mother plant's traits will dominate your cross' daughters.
