does hps mess up cameras?

i just went to take a pic of my new hps grow and the camera has lines going down the screen and when i pointed it away its fine. what does the light put out?

It doesn't mess up the camera, just the pictures taken. Especially iif you're taking pics with your phone-camera.

I've been taking pics with my Canon p&s (IXUS 960). What I do to reduce the orange hues is lower the exposure and fiddle with the white balance.

Afterwards you can edit the temperature and tint.

it's not the light, but the magnetic ballast that screws up digital pix.

so its the orange hues that mess it up?
