Does flowering and re-vegging a plant make it flower faster?

A few years ago I had a skunk special mother. I'd already done two grows with clones and they had gone into flower at about 10-12 days of going 12/12. Anyway, I had used a cutting off the mother in the early days to sex it, I let it flower for about three weeks and then decided to re-veg it.

So I had two clone mothers the only difference being was that one had been flowered and re-vegged.

I took cuttings of both the mothers for a new grow. The cuttings from the re-vegged mother flowered in six days of 12/12, whilst the other cuttings took nearly two weeks.

Shortly after this I lost both the mothers and had to pack up my grow for a while. I don't have the space to run experiments.

I'm just wondering if anyone else had tried this, and what people think about re-vegged mothers? Has anyone done any serious testing with them?
