Does curing increase potency?

In my experiance a good cure just makes the smoke taste better and takes the harshness away. I'm not sure its ever increased potency (ive smoked before and after cures because I was impatient)

As far as I've seen it does not increase potency. However it may increase effect. Since properly cured bid would burn more completely, each hit would contain more thc. This maybe flawed logic but it's the best answer I have.

It does increase potency. Stuff gets braked down into cannabinoids during the curing.

Certain cannabinoids go from inactive to active during the curing period. Personally I think it's just a matter of getting your bud to the point where it's totally dry. But a slow dry definitely helps with the smoothness of the smoke and flavor.

how can it make it stronger lol thats just foolish theres only a certain amount of thc, it just makes it a smoother smoke. ive tried the same product a 7 days after harvest and then again after 2 months and there was a slight change in smell, taste and it was smoother

But the THC was not there in the very beginning so the certain amount of THC has varied for the whole life of the plant. During curing some stuff gets broken down making even more THC - the plant kind of lives on for a while after harvest.

General info on thc, Cannabinoids ect and the 2nd link drying and curing.
the second link does say "The cure lasts a week or two. The aim of what you are doing is evenly finishing the slow dry process, so that mold will not grow when the buds are stored long term. Also, by the end of the cure, any remaining inactive THC will be converted to active THC (that increases potency)."
however in my experience it only improves smoothness and taste slightly with no noticeable difference in strength.

I don't know about all this. But possibly. ... When you see the trics go from milky to amber ... It is caused by oxidation. It changes from one cannibinoid to another, I think cannibinol. Maybe curing does something similar. Where's an expert??

Well i'm definitely not an expert but i have read several places among them a blog for biologists discussing this. Can't remember all the fancy details, but i remember the essence: "Marijuana WILL increase potency if cured properly" I think i feel the difference. The well stored jars that have been stored for 5-6 months or so definitely never dissapoints me ;O))

if i smoke a week old bud not bad if i smoke a bud cured for 3-4 months it will about about twice as good.
