Does active carbon need to be thoroughly washed before use? If so for how long?

Please help it would be greatly appreciated

you shouldnt need to rinse out carbon before use

I would still wash it out though. I just made some carbon filters without rinsing the carbon beforehand and now that damn dust gets everywhere
