Does a Cool Tube require a fan?

U will be able to use it without a fan, if uv got a carbon filter and fan kit fit the filter to the cool tube ,cool the light and get rid of the smell with the same fan

I have a 600 watt hps cooltube and do exactly what closetgardner suggested, I have the 4 inch inline fan attached dircetly to my carbon filter then straight to the tube (which is 6in and required an adapter) and has worked well in a 3'x11"-3'x11" x6'7" or something whatever the gl120 is size wise i forget. I am considering going to an enclosed hood because even with a decent reflector i have seen my friends hydrofarm hps sesm to throw more light downrange sorta speak. Maybe its just me tho. Cooltube is a wonderful set-up tho.

Well I'm going to set it up without a fan and carbon filter for now because I have 3 plants that are a few weeks from harvest. They all grew about 3.5feet off of 7 13w Cfl's and 1 100w halogen.( which is probably some of the worst lighting and plant stretching anyone has ever used and yet still able to produce some bud) I barely have the bottom 3 nodes going.

Heres the pics of my current setup for a good lol

Vtm I'm not sure exactly what your talking about to be honest. I know what a inline fan is and I have to connect it to a carbon scrubber via some sort of ducting. I just need to make/buy them still.

I'm lost on that sentence. Do you have a picture?
