Do you think this seed is worth a try?

I don't know much about seeds, so far I have bought all my seeds from seed banks over the internet. In my last grow, I had some strawberry blue, which I absolutely loved, best stuff I've ever smoked. Well that strawberry blue hermed on me just a little, and off the whole plant, I got this one seed. I'm really keen plant it if it's gonna be a clone of its mama, but obviously dont want to waste my time if it'll be no good.

So my questions are: Do you think this seed is developed enough to germinate successfully (obviously it's pretty green still).
And is it ok to plant seeds from a hermy, or is this a bad idea?

Na it's long since chopped down. I didn't realize how awesome it was until it was all dried and cured up. I'm thinking I'll give this a go, unless anyone more knowledgeable than myself thinks it's not worthwhile
 
Plant it. The plant it self hermed for some reeason theres a possibility it wont. Some strains hermie just because there told to but grow it out see what youget.
 
That seed is okay in coulr ive had seeds tiny compared to most and a grey kiefy color and turned out great.

without pictures and description of conditions from the grower who knows why it hermed, could be from stress or an environmental factor, but it could also be genetic. there are many types of herms and not everyone knows the difference. i wouldnt risk it. seeds are cheap nowadays.
 
I re read uour post. If it hermed itself and you only got one seed then its probably a fem seed. I had ww and out of all my buds i got one nice bean grew it the next year and came out dank same plant same stature same phenos. Its the mothers last ditch effort in reproducing.
 
Thats how they feminise most seeds. They hermie a plant pollinate another and boom only female chromosomes.

Thats what it turned out to be. One seed from a plant. It may not have hermied just produced enough pollen to reproduce. Late in flowering. But it was under the bud with one of those loose calyxes. The new plant flowered great and looked exactly yhe same as its parent. i let it go for ten weeks and no banannas.
 
Nice, that's some great feedback newbie9, sounds exactly the same pretty much. I'll be getting this bad boy in the dirt for sure now. Here's a pic of the mama that spit this seed out. I miss her.

You've been given the right advice. PLANT IT! Unless you're trying to be a pro breeder, don't take any of this too seriously! Got a seed? Plant it! See what comes of it, no harm no foul. You may or may not harvest anything, but you loved the plant it came from and you have a chance to get a female that produces a new supply of bud that's similar, then what's stopping you?
