I would recommend purchasing a handheld microscope. You can get one for under $15 @ radio shack that will view 60-100x. This would allow for you to view the trichromes. If you are looking for a head high then harvest when the trichromes are milky white. If you are looking for a body high, harvest when the majority of trichromes are amber. The above statements of course are dependant on the actual strain itself. Some strains if they are indica dominant does not necessarily mean you will get an end product that is a body high. I.E. northern lights special, tendency of it is to be heady because of the influence of special mix with Northern Lights which I believe is KC number 606 or just Leda Uno.

TRICHOME HARVEST CHART

of couse someone that likes to argue, will argue with this post.

YOU CAN GO BY A CALANDER, AND IT WILL BE BETWEEN 8 AND 9 WEEKS FOR MOST INDICA.
You can buy a $15 lighted battery operated 10X microscope at Radio Shack to examine the trichs.
You can wait until all the hairs are reddish or browish or dark beer colored.

again, all the above are rules of thumb and many will argue this, but until you've done a few grows and learn any better, this is good advise.

They are looking to be close to the chop block. Like the others said get a scope, and check em out so you can time the flush, and cut very well. I also agree with the other statements of Roseman's but like he said you will need a fdew grows under your belt of this strain to know its idiosyncrases then you can base of of pistal colour, a rough timeline, specific changes that occur with the buds when the plant is nearing full maturity, ect.

The tips of your leaves are burn a bit, what did your CO2 meter break?
That chart is great Roseman I had to save it lol

Check out the FAQ link. There is a LOT of useful information about the scientific makeup of THC and the other ingredients of marijuana. That chart as well as others are there too.
