The number one rule is tell nobody, which also applies to the landlord. You can grow safely in an apartment but you need to completely disguise it and completely cover the smell so that even when the landlord needs to come in and do a fire safety inspection he won't know it's there. (more and more are doing this regularly now to find people like you and me and you have to let them in.)

You have to grow in a wardrobe cabinet, or other piece of furniture. Even a couple end tables. Preferrably with a lock on it but technically they won't look in your personal belongings. (They will look in your closets though, don't use them to grow that's the first place they'll look.)

Control the smell with a diy carbon filter, and other method if needed. Use fans that are silent or nearly and have a pc nearby that's loud enough to cover the sound. (can be a fake pc with just loud fans running in it but make sure it's always running even when you're away)

Make it light tight not just for 12/12 but security...

It can be done, there are many folks doing it, just cover every one of these bases. Just pretend like you live with a roommate who would steal it if he knew it was there, that's how good it has to be hidden.

Never throw trash out with any evidence, not even a stem or a single peat pellet. Don't even let them see you carry in soil, even if you are growing houseplants. Always carry stuff in and out in generic bags that won't draw attention so it looks like laundry or groceries or anything legit.

Do all these things and you can grow a lifetime and never get caught. Do one thing wrong and no matter if he's sorta cool or not even a normally cool person doesn't like the risks and at best will evict you and at worst send the cops to your door.

Learn your rights first too, as in you never open the door for the police period....

Probably all sounds crazy paranoid and over the top, but it's not.

hey thanks for the info

but i'm still a bit unclear on concealing it. i can understand how you could conceal the plants when theyre small. but marijuana plants can get big.

how would i go about it then?

and is there a good amount of info on stealth growing on these forums?
