Do you include pot size when calculating height?

Just wondering what the general practice is. Do people generally measure from the base of the pot or the base of the stem at the soil line?

If you are referring to the height of a plant provided by the breeder then they state the height of the stem from soil's surface to the tip of the main stem. So if a breeder's package claims the plant will reach 1.2 meters at maturity you will want to account for the pot height as well when trying to figure out the vertical space requirements. You can measure it with the pot or without if youre in just for playing with the meter.

happy growin!

Youll get about a foot or so per gallon of pot size. So 5gal would give you about a 5 footer, if all is done just right. Just a rule of thumb not the scripture.

If your calculating the max height to the light that the plant can grow then yes count it. You cant just pretend its not there.
