Do you have any harvest rituals?

I don't mean flushing or darkness or ice water or any of the technical things that people do. I was wondering whether you do something special when you're about to administer the coup de grâce, to thank the plant for its sacrifice or express gratitude to God or Gaia or Jack Herer or something. It seems like we get so attached to these plants while they're growing, it's a little odd to just hack 'em down without a thought.

Just me, or do other people think about this sort of thing?

I thank the plant for growing true for me and praise it for helping me, then I chop.

I usually thank them, apologize for not letting them get laid and then chop.

This is a great moment for us each time. It's family only helping out into the wee hours. We begin with a prayer of thanks to the Creator of this world and maker of this wonderful herb.

She likes to throw a panty party at harvest time. It's her idea, I don't complain...

My harvest ritual is going to the Caribbean every December

i take em out into the full moon light on their last night, lay on some beats (usually spin some vinyl Marley, Hendrix, beatles or santana) light up a spliff and then bring em inside to trim.

Oh I say a prayer of thanks too.

I talk to my plant from day one. She gives me pain relief. She gets a lot of attention. At the end. I thank God for making her. I thank her for what she is about to give me. Then I cut her and lay her out to dry. The ultimate sacrifice for my health.
