Do you guys think this light set up will work?

Ok, I already know that its not ideal and that it will probably shorten the life of my bulb but the question I'm wondering is: Will this fuck with my plants cycles and cause hermies??

So the plan is to have 3 lights in my room, 2 4' floros and a 400w HPS unfortunately the 400w brings up the temp in my little room way too high and causes stunting and burning in the plants but the 64w of floros just isn't enough for flower. I was wondering if I would be able to run the HPS for say 2 hours on 2 off 4 on 2 off 2 on (or something like that) during my 12 hour lights on period to allow the room to cool off a bit (the floros would stay on for the full 12 hours).

I know the proper solution is to buy an air cooled reflector or get an air conditioner but as it is right now do you think it would work?

Thanks a lot everyone

Well, I think it would really freak out the plants uless done more like the sun. Start your cooler lights first, in a few hours your HPS kicks on, then let it run for a few hour then it goes off and the cooler ones remain on for the rest of the cycle. This may create a sun rise/set effect. But seriously I think it would still freak out the plant. You may try this to complete your grow and before your next get a sealed hood.

Yeah thats kind of what i was thinking, let the floros run for 3 hours then have the hps turn on for 6 and let the floros finish for the last 3 hours i might just try the hps again and see what the temps are like before i start messing around with this stuff. The thing is the plants are looking really nice and healthy and i dont want to screw them up by having the temps way too high but at the same time I dont want to just run floros and get a low yeild

Dont seem like it wpould affect them anymore than cloudy days outside. As long as they get decent light for the 12 hrs they should be ok
