Hello RIU! Im in the process of building a grow box. It'll be about 5ft tall and have 2 chambers. My question is will a few computer fans REALLY keep the temps down? Im using cfl's but whoever said they dont produce heat has never used them before. For flower im using 4 100w 2700k's and veg im using 6 6500k's. Figure ill have 2 120mm fans blowing directly on the lights and 2 120mm fans on the opposite side for exhaust. (for both chambers) Then have one 120mm fan put in lower somewhere around the plants for some fresh air intake(both chambers)....sound like a good plan? Thanks for any help RIU family!:peace:

Sounds legit, I might add a fan on top for exhaust (heat rises) and maybe a small oscillating, just for a breeze, if there's room. Just add a thermometer and check your temps, adjust as needed. I have a tent 5ft tall 4ft wide and its about 5 over ambient with a 6inch exhaust, 6in oscillating and 4 inch intake.

thanks for the quick reply! Think i will add 1 80mm on top of the box. What about light traps?

Well when people say CFL's have no heat, they're talking about the 23w probably. The 100w put off a good amount, so you will need to upgrade your fans. PC fans work great as long as they actually move the air they're rated for.

upgrade from a 120mm?

Sorry for the confusion; I meant upgrade from fans used on 23w CFL's. You should be good as long as the fans you have move some good air.
