do these roots look ok?

my friend said that the roots on my dwc has root rot and something growing on them but i say there is nothing wrong. the nutrients are brown so in nature the roots are going to be brown. check out the pics. he also says they shouldn't be clumped together like they are. but its how they grow it doesn't affect it.

Get a closer shot of the root mass and plznt please, your plant looks healthy from a distance to me.

ok so here are some close ups of the roots. also my meter reads way off so the plant got burned from too high ppm ahh flushed it might be ok.but this is the first time im doing anything hydro so its a learning experience. i need a new and better ppm meter and ph meter, maybe a truncheon one. but the roots aren't slimy at all and do not smell at all. no algae either. the nutrients are brown and make the water brown so they stain the roots in effect. i'm assuming thats why they are brown. but you guys judge and let me know. thanks

the bucket picture is what the water looks like..but its a high dose so its way more brown then it usually is. i'm at less than half the normal strength right now so the water is barely brown at all.
