Hey everyone. Here are the pictures of my 2 plants. They are 3 weeks old as of yesterday. I transplanted from a solo cup to 1 gallon smart pot 9 days ago and they have more than doubled in size in that 9 days. The outer leaves are going over the pot. I have my final pots (5 gallon smart pots with handles) on standby. Is it olk to transplant them again this soon?? I'm worried they will get root bound cause I was told once the leaves hit the outer edges that means the roots have as well. Please please help!!! My first grow and I don't wanna transplant it again this soon if it's gonna stress them out. The first transplant was perfect zero stress. Thanks! Don't pay any attention to the little lady growing in the back lol. The 2 big ones are dutch passion mazar fem a medical strain and the little one in the solo cup is akorn snowbud fem. They are under a 400 watt MH bulb and a high output t5

Smart pots pretty much prevents plants from being root bound. To answer your question though, no its not to early to transplant and you might actually want to do it because roots become entwined with the smart pot itself because there fabric. I remember I transplanted from a 3gal smartpot to a 5 gal smartpot and it was a bitch because tangled up with the pot. So I now just use plastic pots to start then do the final transplant into the 5gal or 7gal smartpot. Hopes this helps.

it's already been done with no issues. did it just before lights out and watered to a bit. also misted each 3 inch layer with ph'd water. Thanks everyone!

will i get big plants in 5 gallon smart pots? my closet is 8ft tall and i'm veggin for 60 days. It's an indica strain. i'll top one but not the other just wanna see difference in the two since it's my first time. herbies said 8-9 week flowering time. i will be using ALL of fox farm nutes except flowers kiss and boomerang.

transplanting your plants isn't much of a stress. but if they were mine I would wait till the roots fill the pot a little more. In two or three weeks tip the pot over and slide the root ball out so you can see how the roots look. don't force it. it should come out without coming apart. then move it into the larger pot. the best way to find out when to transplant is to look at the root development by sliding the plant out of the pot. but many new growers are timid to do it.
