Howdy!

I was told by a scientist that In a pot free environment the plant produces runners like the strawberry plant..

Has anyone every seen a runner from their plant?

Thanks!

I think cannabis could produce new plants (if a branch was cut off and managed to root for example), but they generally don’t.

Left to their own devices, cannabis grows as a big bush. They’re also annuals and have one growing season to maximize their sexual reproduction. It wouldn’t make sense to spend resources on creating small clones that likely wouldn’t even be able to produce seeds before the season was over.

Thanks for the reply Jay , but I an still wondering do cannabis plants produce runners?

A runner is when the roots shoot off to the side and then grow another plant . Like a free clone! Strawberrys produce runners and bamboo doee too.

No cannabis does not produce runners (stolon). Plants that do produce them ( strawberry, mint, and may types of grasses) are also perennials, that they go dormant in the winter but don't die. Cannabis is a annual. It dies at the end of it's life cycle and reproduces only through seeds.

Now exposed roots will turn green (green root) but I have never heard of them producing any foliage let alone a whole new plant.
