do plants build a tolerance to nutrients?

Does anybody know if plants build some sort of tolerance to nutrients? Like if I give a plant nutrients all the time, if I were to stop would it develop a deficiency faster than if I never used nutrients at all?

Yes, but not because of a tolerance, like you put. If a plant "is" able to handle the nutrients in excess, you give it, it's using them to build more plant mater, and once you take them away, deficiencies happen to the new growth that your grew from it. Either way, it's not healthy for them, and might permanently fuck up your plants grow the and final taste; not to mention wasting a ton of money on nutrients.

Yea was trying to think of the right word for it. I made a super soil type thing and they were loving the nutes, but I didn't want to burn em so laid off a bit and now looks like nitrogen deficiency
