Right on!!! Now that's what I wanted!!! I'm glad it's to this extent. People will see what's going to happen and say, no.. Wait.. I don't want it legal anymore. The government is fine with doin it because they make money.. Why can't we grow our plants? Because how would they make money if you could do that? Oh!! And another thing, you can go buy cigarettes if your 18, but! You gotta be 21 to smoke weed... Okay, that makes sence. I'm so glad I understand so well. And whoever voted on this can't understand it... They don't want too

This is what I hear from MI, and what all adults hear nation wide. Washington legalizes marijuana for recreational use....

Maybe not exactly what everyone here would have wanted sure, but a step toward winning a drug war absolutely. Simply hearing that headline changes opinions! Its a majority opinion regardless of understanding of what it means. Control will likely remain in the hands of the few and powerful as it always has however, truth is no longer easy to hide. When the prohibition of Alcohol ended, the hardships did not. To this day, we can all agree that there are issues though the truth that adults should have choice, is the consensus.

The retardation is strong in this thread. Same backwards logic that defeated california's prop 19 two years ago. I would like to know how exactly it is going to effect anyone here. Is there a single medical user that is going to stop growing or stop purchasing from their source? Is there a single recreation user that is going to stop growing or stop purchasing from their source? Is there a single illegal grower out there who is going to stop growing? I fail to see how this will negatively affect even a single marijuana user. The absolute worst case is you revert to the black market - which is already how rec users do it. No one will stop growing, no one will stop selling, no one will stop buying, and no one will stop smoking because of this.

People with absolutely no access will purchase it from the state. Hell it would be pretty nice to be able to run to the party store and pick up an 8th of overpriced weed when you are in a pinch. I have been in that situation far too many times before I started growing.

But everyone that grows or deals is going to continue as they are now.

Well we will have to kick back and see what happens! I was happy for 74 to go through! I was thinking last night about 502, it will make smoking weed and being high more normal! The price isn't going to go anywhere but up! I grow so I don't care about price, and I think that if the DUI laws in 502 are that fucked up you will have a leg to stand on in court. I know the state is just seeing $$$$$ with all the money they will have rolling in on this %75 tax and all the money from handing out DUI's! :lol:

The way I see it is that if a cop uses the law to take away my human rights and forcably reove fluid from my body then that law no longer pertains to me! I would dedicate my life to fucking with that cop! LOL I have no job to go to! I would do shit like take pictures of his kids playing at school with a high powered camera then mail them to him! Just to drive him and his wife insane!

Bottom line is we will just have to wait and see. If you really don't like the law get your MMJ card and grow your own! And you will also have a Med deffense! Anyone that smokes weed should get their medical card you have to be a real stupid ass if you can't get your MMJ card in Wa! LOL only place easier is Ca! The DUI law is shit but at this point what can you do about it?

My buddy looks at it this way, the state is going to "legalize" it. That will only ADD to the people smoking weed in the state. Now when these new pot smokers figure out that they can buy better CHEAPER weed from my buddy they will stop going to the state! Just save one of the state bags with the WA sticker on it and put other weed in there and you are in like flin! The state can't charge a %75 tax and compete with someone that grows and sells without all the fees, licences, and red tape the state is going to ask you to go through to grow for them! And I am going out on a limb here and guessing that alot of the weed grown for the State of Wa is going to hit the black market and go right out of the state!

The price of marijuana is fucking ridiculous because of prohibition. If the state could farm large quantities of it it would be so efficient they could tack on a 1000% tax and still sell it cheaper than growers. Just look at other forms of produce. It gets sold in huge quantities priced by the TON.

Again the price won't go up. If the state is charging more than growers then most people will simply procure it on the black market as they already do. If you don't know any growers or dealers, or you are a total square and only feel comfortable buying from the state then you will purchase from the state, but you wouldn't have purchased it any other way anyway. It will have absolutely zero net effect on anyone.

The state will not be the store owners and they will not be directly growing and selling weed to the retailers ....they are just collecting taxes and regulating the stores they allow to open and the growers they allow to supply them

At this time the new law gives the mmj stores more business....people already askin me to buy them a $200 oz at local mmj outlet

some food for thought.... At present...when a cop askes where did you get your weed??? There isnt a legal store open to obtain the supply....did you obtain the supply legally?? will they require a sales receipt showing prof of purchase at a legal outlet??

as of Dec 6th we can have a oz on person but there is NO LEGAL source to buy from for the normal joe

Why would a grower sell it to the state for $50 an Oz of TOP shelf weed? Anyone that is going to grow for the state knows that they can run it right over the border.......... Not Mexico not Canadia how about Oregon how about Idaho??? Oh yeah Im gonna grow for the state and sell it for 50 when I can take a 20 min drive and sell it in 5 seconds for 600 a QP! Ok yeah that's gonna work! It's practicly legal in Ca. and the prices of 1/8's are 50-60 already and that is with no regulations, fees, proceccors, retailers, overhead, 75% tax and all the new jobs that are crated! Who pays for all that when the grower is selling oz's for $50?

You start talking about mass production that costs ALOT of money, the only reason that MJ is the biggest cash crop is because of its profit margin! The more you cut at that the more growers will cut corners. Something has to give! Either quality or price! You can't just mass produce the same quality and turn around and sell it for 1/4 or the pirce you are now!

Please explain to me how they are going to add a 75% tax, Add growing fees, processing fees, retailer has to make his profit because the store can ONLY sell MJ and MJ related items so they will have to setup all new buisnesses, and all the new expenses of inspecting State approved grows..... that isn't free, it is also going lead to costly legal battles and expensive new bureaucracies to regulate this MJ! How with all these new costs is the price of MJ just going to drop? You think the answer is as simple as mass production? Mexico does the same thing bro it's call dirt weed!

The state will raise the price!!!! That's all they know how to do! I garantee the state sees $300+ Oz's that they are just going to "rake" in the tax dollars and that just isn't going to happen! that's all I'm saying!

Funny thing is that there is no weed being sold but I sure as fuck bet the DUI law is in effect! Stoners better drive safely! I sure as fuck am not going to give a cop any reson to pull me over! Just like B4 if you have something to hide do the speed limit and don't give a cop a reason to pull you over and they wont! If you are black or mexican I don't know what the fuck to tell you! LOL

Prices are already high and no grower is going to cut his prices enough so that the state can simply become a middle man and profit. I just don't see how buying from current growers to resell is a feasible business option. The state is going to have to grow their own, or hire people on contract to grow it. Everybody that grows will continue to grow, and the state will grow additional plants. The overall supply will increase. And once you take the illegality out of the equation and things can be done on a medium to large scale as a business, then no home grower is going to be able to compete. There is nothing inherently expensive about growing plants. Humans have mastered it. They are going to be able to add whatever vice tax they want on it and the price will still be reasonable when compared to black market prices because it will be so easy to produce.

Now what's this gonna do? It's gonna shut down EVERYONE, and once there's no one else to get weed from but the government. Your gonna see prices SKY ROCKET!! And the weed is gonna be 500-800$ Have fun with that you dummies

You are forgetting the part of the equation that people will start growing again and create a black market that will sell weed for less than $500-800. I mean seriously, you think some how everyone is going to stop growing? It's fucking illegal now and the government can't stop people from growing, how are they going to stop them when they want a monopoly on marijuana?

I just don't get your logic. The absolute worst possible scenario is that the government lulls people into a false sense of security with cheap weed, then raises the price when they have a monopoly, and we go back to the SAME EXACT ECONOMICS that have existed since prohibition.

I still hear about Feds shuting down MMJ outlets and dispensaries recieving seast and desist orders..... they are still shutting down medical marijuana stores.

what do you think they are gunna do to non medical stores that sell to anyone and everyone over 21?? Tear um a new asshole unless they reschedule

its a tough road ahead thats for sure
