Do most people use .5 or .7 on ppm meters?

Hey Folks,

Just got a proper ppm meter and am setting the plan for a new DWC grow. I have two 2-week-old seedlings ready to start on 1/4 nutes soon.

When reading through threads, most people talk about ppms as an absolute number. But are they most likely referring to the .5 conversion or the .7 conversion? My meter lets me chose which.

For example:
3-4 weeks (1/4 strength) = 200-400ppm
5-6 weeks (1/2 strength) = 500-700ppm
6 weeks+ (full strength) = 800-1100 ppm

Would that be the .5 or the .7 conversion?

Thanks in advance for the answer!!!

I don't see why it matters anyway... the ppm my plants and setup needs to find that sweet spot is going to be different than yours anyway. Any ppm advice you get is going to have to be adjusted for your setup so essentially it's useless advice other than a general low medium high reference.

I agree. I was just looking for a starting place. Thanks!

What he said..lol. I have 2 tables running and the one table is into 2.5 weeks of 12/12. it is running around 1100 TDS .7 conv, and it still raises every day. the other table is running 975 and it is staying stable but only 2 weeks into veg. So I know the first one is a slow feeder where as the second table is eating up the nutes nicely. These are two different strains with different needs. IMO it is more important to monitor the plants needs than the actual levels recommended. Keep notes, lots of notes and let the plants tell you not other people. Thats not to say the people here are not a great help as I would have been lost with out it!
