do mh bulbs fit into regular incandescent light sockets?

Not sure if they do or don't, never tried it cause I don't feel like fuckin up a bulb or burning my house down.

i just bought a 400w MH bulb. i have a 400w ballast to support it.

what do you mean odgrop, about burning your house down? i havn't used it yet, im currently using 400w hps, gonna us the MH for vedge on my next grow.

arn't mh/hps pretty much the same apart from being red/blue spetrum, why would it being in a plug socket fuck it up?

Mh uses a cap only on the ballast to fire the lamp at power up, a HPS also needs an ignitor. Won't fire in a MH fixture.

Some HID bulbs will fit in incandescent sockets, but without a ballast to back those up you'll just ruin a bulb and probably blow a breaker.

He wasn't talking about using it with a ballast, he was talking about putting it in a normal light socket and trying to use it.

lol i tried it wouldnt light.. gayyy i dont wanna spend like 40$ on a ballast growing weed costs alot of money... lol but cheaper than buying atleast

40$ for a ballast? That doesn't seem right, if you arnt willing to spend what it takes to grow decent bud then just don't, you will save enough money from one good grow to pay for the whole set up.

A good medium and nutes are not free, and if you want to grow all year then you need the indoor shit too, you can do it half assed and get low yield and quality or you can do it right, your call.

well i got some miracle grow soil and some miracle grow nutes, think thats good?

MG soil usually has time realease nutes which means you can't add more nutes without burning and flushing just realeases more nutes and burns the plants more. If it's the moisture control kind then it will hold too much water not allowing oxygen to the roots.

MG nutes arn't bad as long as they arn't time release, they are strong though so 1/8-1/4 reccommended stregth must be used, their organic line of nutes are pretty good I use some of those.

If you do not want to spend money on a ballast, did you think about compact fluorescents? They screw into a normal house light socket, and work without a problem. You can buy a few of them and use them to veg until your ready to put your plants outside.
There is no otherway to run the Metal Halid without the Ballast .

If your that low on money maybe try Ebay? I actually got a whole 400 w Mh Hps setup for 16$ ...

But that was luck.

yea dood but like i dont know how you can get multiple cfls i mean if i use cfls id have to just put my plant next to the fixture
