hey guys I am having some ca/mg lockout issues and have tried everything with no sucess. I am now begining to think my water is the culprit. I found these stats on my counties water district homepage. Tell me if it sounds like I need to get an RO machine. I ph my water to 6.0-6.5 and filter through a tallboy 2 stage carbon filter.

# in ppms

chlorine .5
chloride 8
sodium 8
TDS 237
Hardness 210
PH 7.4

I ph to 6.0-6.5

Its odd your having ca/mg issues when hardness is mostly calcium i believe. But it seems decent enough, maybe try some distilled water first

Yep back when I began growing I used tap water ran through a filter and I had cal/mag issues too... Invested in a RO filter and haven't had a problem since

Well I have been adding cal/mg to existing hard water is where I think I went wrong, overdosed with CA and locked out MG and possibly P. Cut out the extra ca/mg after a flush and things are looking up. Also thinking my ph may be a tad bit on the low side.

You have very high amounts of calcium in your water. You're probably right, too much calcium locked out other elements. I stopped using RO water and only use tap water...and have never used calmag at all, now going into the fifth week of flowering in a few days. I do supplement with about 1 tbsp of Epsom salts per watering going into flower.

Maybe you should just use tap water without calmag until you notice deficiencies, and then start in low doses from there--IF needed. Do you have any cal or mag in your nutrient solution (if you use synthetics)?

Are you using soil? If so...yeah, maybe 6.3 and up would be a good PH range to shoot for?
