Do all plants go through the "flowering stretch"?

Do all plants go through the "flowering stretch"? If yes, then around which weeks should it occur? If no, then will my plant grow any more if it doesn't go through the "flowering stretch"?

Unless you feed them hormones there will be a growth spurt when cutting back on the lights. I never liked the term stretch. To me, it's growth.

Yea u definitely want your plant to "stretch" when you switch to flowering. Like the others said its just natural growth you want the plant to get as big as possible right

stretch, growth is a pain and its hard to control and keep level, I trim back the top fan leaves to slow it down.
most strains stretch week 2-4 in flower (12/12)

how is stretch good and why do you want large plants ?

I would love to train my plants in veg so they fill the space I want and flower them off, no guessing involved without the stretch (flower growth)

indoors there's no point having plants more than 2ft high, just got more plant waste to get rid of and use more electria in veg and then you need extra support for the buds in flower

you start to get a few clusters white hairs

here's a good exsample i found on google

EDIT flower is when you turn the lights over to 12/12

true flower is when the plant starts to grow buds (early flower) most strains (week 2-4)

I do. Others don't. I have vertical space. So I like some heighth. Tight bushes can have air flow issues, atleast they did when I tried it last. And I didn't like the light penetration...as much as a taller more spaced out plant...but it all ends good.

The highest way to yeild is scrog and sog where the shoots grow less than 12" tall.
indoor light can only penetration the canopy 2 ft and most the weights on the top 12" of the plant
so a good even canopy is the only way to get a high yeild

no point having 4 ft plants with a 12" buds on the top and thats the best you can get with tall plants (sweet spot), anless you grow vertcal or outside
all the rest will grow light and airy ( very light poor qualty buds)

Side lights grow big bottom buds. My plants always get SBS. Slumping bud syndrome. Lateral branches grow toward the side lights until they slump over and have to be staked up.

Side lights/bottom lights make things happen on the lower half and I still get those nice colas on top.

You don't want them stretching like equatorial Zambian Copper 16', but a normal stretch is fine for me.

yer you can increase the bud growth on the lower part of the plant with side lights ( low watt t5's) but its only going to help a few inches on one side of the plant
you could use powerfull lights and then the plants got to be 6-12" off the light so it can't really work, it would be a waste of space

its going to put a lot of heat in the room aswell , dry the soil out on one side of the pot, don't sound good to me

if your growing under a 600w, forget side lights and upgrade to a 1kw hps

LED's work from 20" away, and BEHIND fans. No heat, you can put your finger on them.

Your top lights have to be 6-12" away too and they work. LED's work nice. They are incredibly bright. You can look into the top 600 for a second. It hurts to look into LED's. Like a flash camera when you look away, see spots. And the light passes through and reflects back off the white background. Shut off the top light and it's still pretty bright in there. You'd have to see the set up.

Why do I want large plants? Um why would you want small plants? Hahah I try to get the highest yeild I can when I grow, not the smallest

I think the most powerfull led only pentrat the canopy 14" and it still gives off heat and needs to be a few inches from the plant

leds that give off no heat are not going to give off much light, can't have one without the other

If plant count want not a proble where i live, i would grow 49 small plants under a 600w, and pull 1/2oz off each plant.
large plants don't give you a large yeild without a lot of trainning, scrog, lst and topping ect

have you got any ideal what your talking about ?

They had a 600 LED set up at a grow store growing veggies. They had to raise it up to 26" because it was bleaching the leaves!

They can't be too close for that reason. And the tomatoes under those store LED's looked big to me. They penetrate. Too close and they bleach. Newer technology and it keeps changing. Don't trust them for the primary footprint enough yet, but as sides they work great.
