Do 24" Standard Fluorescent Tubes Put Off Any Heat At All

I was thinking of getting 4 or 6 (one or the other)

But it is in a closet with no ventilation once the door is closed.

I am going to aim for absolutely no higher than 80 degrees f

I currently run (1) 125 watt cfl and its hot as hell in there. On the very coolest days its 85.9 degrees f

Does the cfl put out more heat than standard fluorescents?

Would 120 watts from fluorescent tubes be just as hot as a 125 watt cfl?

I used 2 shop lights (4 bulbs total) and my closet got well into the upper 80's low 90's. Definately gets too warm without the proper ventilation. I had a fan in there but all it did was blow hot air around. Definately had to open the door to keep the temps down and that totally defeats the purpose of stealth.

on the long tube type i think its the ballast that produces heat not the bulbs. if you disassemble the flouro tube fixtures, you can mount the bulbs evenly spaced on a piece of plywood that acts at the ceiling from your grow space, with the flouro tubes facing down. On top put the ballasts, seperated from the plywood by some sort of fire proof insulation. Hang you new ceiling by chains so the height can be adjustable. Can you cut a hole in the roof of the closet? That would be awesome to make a passive vent system.
A even better route would be LED lights....
