Ok so, so far ive mixed the lye, water & mhrb & am waiting 24hrs to put the naptha in for another 24. now my question is, is can I just move on to freezing the naptha or should I wash it first? Thanks for any tips

Don't put the naphta in that long, stir it well and let it seperate 3 or 4 times then pull off your layer of naphta.
Repeat this a few times, collecting all the naphta in a bowl, not the one you will use for freezing, you will pour over into that just before freezing, as it will allow impurities to cling to the sides of the previous bowl.

So its not necessary to wash with sodium carb? & after I take the first pull how much more naptha should I use? Should I combine all the pulls?

use many small washes rather than a few large ones, I normal throw about 40ml or so in per wash in a 750ml bottle.
I use a bottle with a thin neck as it makes a tall colomn of solvent, easy to pull off without a seperatory funnel.
You can also use a syringe with a wad of polyfill stuffed in the nozzle to suck it off, the plug stops the bottom layer from comming with.

Is it normal for the top layer to be clear? Its not yellow

Its kleen strip. The layers arnt seperating very well even after i added alot of water. I got some cristals from my first pull but hardly any..

yea i put like 3 or 4 times the water in & lye & it seems to be seperating more. the only thing is, theres like these fatty lookin bubbles that wont go down so i had a hard time taking the naptha out with those there.. i got some freezing so ill see how that goes. thanks for the help
