I want to build my own LED lamps? But I have a tons of questions as I am a beginner. What color/frequency LEDs are effective and in what ratio? Any ideas, build tips, tutorials, pictures, and experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Most LED companies are using Warm white, Neutral white, or Cool white LED's in combination with some red, far red, or both. Some newer panels aren't even using red supplementation and are going the all white route.

If I was going to make my own DIY panel, I'd run mostly Neutral white, with maybe a small mix of cool/warm white just for added spectralcoverage; and about 10-15% red (appox 630nm) diodes as a flower 'boost'.

Most panels are using higher wattage LED's now too. 5-10W is fairly common for white diodes.
