alright! thanks seem ok to me. average running temp is about 82-83 degrees, i'm ok with this. keep in mind, for the sake of curiosity i turned off the intake fan, and let it run passively and maintained this temp.
also for the sake of curiosity, i placed the dual temp gauge inside the exhaust duct, and its exhausting air at around 86, so i guess things are functioning well. i'm done testing and ready to start growing!

what i'm trying to figure out... those fan speed controllers are 3 conductor, and the fan itself is 2 conductor.... did you wire this fan directly into a wall box for power? or use lamp cord at one end of the wiring?

I'll draw a picture real fast.

L= line
N= neutral
G= ground

The cord is not so important, you can use a 2 prong plug and just omit the G circuit above. I used a 3 prong plug from an extension cord with the end cut off.

Also I still recommend using no intake fans and using them all for exhaust, it will be the most efficient way of cooling your tent, run 1/2 of the fans 24/7 and the other half with a DuctStat when the temps get above your dialed in temp the other two fans will turn on automatically. This would be the best.

Well I might starting sooner than I think..
Thanks to the help of this guy!

Now all I need is this...
Soil
and these...
Pots

Also, I don't want to deal with starter/rooting plugs.. after germing and getting a healthy tap root, I can just poke in the soil about 1/2" and drop the cracked seen in place correct? That's what I plan to do! Let me know if thats kosher, first time soil and first time with a seed starting tray/humidity dome

OOOO! Seed Starting Lamps!!!

They sort of have the look of a two lamp T5 setup, cut in half. I already have one of these lamps, and i'll be ordering a second lamp

Each lamp is 27W 1800 Lumens and 6500K. Once I start vegetative growth i'll use them as side lighting. Plan to keep them during flower to maintain that multi-spectrum.
VERY excited about using these, they will help with temp problems in the seedling stage, which is all I was concerned about. Once they are a little older and hardier i'm sure they can handle the low 80's temps just fine.

FF Ocean Blend may be a bit strong to start a seedling in. I recommend starting the seedlings in a weaker nuted soil or in a soil-less mix all together. Peat moss, vermiculite, coco coir, perlite use one or use them all together. I use promix seedling blend. http://www.premierhort.com/eProMix/Gardening/fGardening.htm

Found a nifty seed starting tray..

Six Pack Seed Starter

I'll be starting my precious seeds in that tray, under one of the above listed lamps.
Once I have healthy sprouts with their first true leaves, each one into their own 1 gallon pot with the Ocean Forest soil, with their own 23W CFL lamp until larger leaf sets grow. Then turn the lamps sideways for side lighting, and use the hood to fill in the rest. Looks like I still won't be germing till later this month though. I really want to be here at the ready to see them through this crucial early phase of life.

just read this thread!nice setup . you should do the white widow and white rhino at the same time(2nd grow??)
if you dont want to lst or topping you can bend plants just let them grow about a foot(up to you) then bend & tie
this makes a bunch of even sized buds instead of 1 cola and side growth.
ive seen it done, it works great for putting lightes closer plus it's less stress for plants
i remeber hearing "you can over prune, but its really hard to over bend"
I can wait for you to plant'em already!

thanks for dropping in!
my original intent was to LST both plants into low lying even canopies so i can keep the lights low and close and essentially even (flowering under high watt CFL after all) the more i think about it, the more i just want to do plants straight up and topped. wish i could just have an end all answer, but not sure if given this setup LST or topped plants would lend a higher yield. LST makes me nervous, the most i've done is basically take two vertical branches of a sativa and lay them horizontal. all the training involved in getting a good LST canopy sounds time consuming, and i want to have a rapid vegetative period. going for seed to harvest within 80-90 days (fingers crossed lol)

also.. i too can't wait to plant the damn seeds!!

seed to harvest in 80-90 days? you dreamer! how much you plan on producing with this grow or just making this your trial run?

honestly i would be happy with 1-2 oz PER PLANT, i know this goal is not realistic i should probably expect 1.5-2 oz as TOTAL yield from both plants.
SeeMoreBuds (aka Garden Knowm) went seed to harvest in about 65-70 days in his book. he had two clones growing alongside and pulled 8 oz. (he also dialed it in beforehand i'm sure)

this is a trial grow. i was planning to only veg the ladies for about 14-16 days just till i see some alternating node growth. after my extended sativa grow (which lasted closed to 5 months!!) i want to do a short and sweet grow, and compare extremes. we'll see what happens when i get started.

What you describe good sir is LST. Low (Limited) Stress Training...

Several things should be mentioned here then shack... Seed to harvest in 80-90 days is going to be something that will result in premature buds and a frustrated grower. Let's take a good look at what a realistic timeline in soil will be, shall we? I would say 30 days from seed breaking ground until the plant is mature enough to LST and veg. Just LST the main stem for now and let the rest go wild. Veg for about 2 weeks and then going to 12/12 light schedule. Flowers will appear in 7-14 days and then you can start your 80-90 day countdown. So about a two month period before you start seeing flowers and generally flowering time quoted on plants starts when you see the first female calyxs under 12/12.

If you decide to top your plant add a week or two to the schedule. Topping adds stress, stress stunts growth.

I pray for a high female to male ratio on your seedlings.

~GG420

EDIT: SeeMoreBuds CFL book was with clones I thought, not seeds. Clones can get you past the first month of plant maturing. The only way I could see a person getting a plant to harvest that early is with a strain called Early Girl or a cross of it and you would almost have to start your plant out on 12/12 immediately. For you setup a quick grow is not recommended, let your strain mature and the trichromes will tell you when to harvest not a time line.

i know its lst, but most people dont know of simple bend it over. causes the least stress possible!!
keep banging your head, great release!(dubb83)
if you want such a quik harvest try autoflowering strains?

SeeMoredBuds' book follows two "Blue Dot" clones and one "Mango" from seed. between the two clones and one mango from seed he harvested 8 oz in about 65 days, start to finish. looks pretty damn legit.
haha i just want to start growing dammit!! Exactly 18 days until i start germing some beans.

oh and you asked about a high female to male ratio dub... i'm cracking two seeds, both feminized from Green House Seeds. Train Wreck and White Widow
