i just bought the leds that i plan on using bought twenty 3200k and ten 6500k leds all one watt. not sure what other light color i should add or what ratio to use. i plan on adding a 620nm and 660nm for better flowering. i plan on using this light to go from seedling to harvest. 40w is the total amount of wattage i plan on using.

I don't mean to be blunt, but I think 40w is a very low wattage, even for just two or three plants.
I'm also working with led stars and drivers and I should warn you there's a hella lot soldering involved. It's all good, though. You should also think about where mounting the diodes to, I had thermal management issues with 90x 1w leds on an aluminum tray (very thin, a regular oven tray). Now I ordered massive heatsinks and 120mm fans, hoping to solve the issue. My project now totals 330w for about 12 square feet (1.20m²) and I might have room to add more wattage to cover this area. When using 1w LEDs the approach must be suited to the fact that those diodes do not have the same penetration power as 3w or 5w chips, therefore multiple light sources work better and probably you'd like to use topping, fimming or LST techniques to keep the plant low.
I don't have a lot of experience as a grower but I've been approaching growing with LEDs for some time, experimenting and reading, so I hope my two cents were worth the time to read.
If I'm wrong, please correct me.
Colormix seems to be a very complex issue, there are plenty of helpful threads around. I wouldn't advise doing so cause I'm experimenting myself, but I'm hoping to have nice results using both colored and white diodes (nm: 440, 460, 620, 630, 660 / k: 2500, 3500, 6500).
Good luck! The forum is full of good info, I'm sure you know that already.

thank you for your input. my grow space is only about 3 or 4 square feet so a real small area. only planning on growing small solo cup plants. probably no fimming or anything. right now im growing under cfls 2 32w and i didnt top or anything and it looks like ill have one small nug starting from the top going to about the middle of the 4 inch tall plant.

^^^ Why would you say that? Bigger is NOT better

Go to Astir Grows thread here to see what is happening when low watt led, and proper spectrums are employed. I just posted this weeks pics, but there are plenty of others who post pics too

@PetFlora can you help me with the spectrum ratio not sure what would be good for a veg and flowering panel
