Digital ballast 10% power boost, when should i use it?

Yo guys, does anyone have advice on using the extra 10% boosts on electronic ballasts, im not really sure when is best to use it? Dont wana start too early in case it fucks the bulbs. Ive got a 600w dimmable exolux unit. Can go up to 660w.

My lumatek came with an information leaflet about the boost aka super lumen feature.

It mentioned that the correct usage of the feature was to use it when your flowering lamp has already done 2 cycles and in order to squeeze a 3rd cycle you can boost aka super lumen the lamp to help replace some of the degradation of lumens lost over time.

Oh. I was under the impression that you can use it in the last couple weeks of a grow to increase bud size? But not entirely sure.
