Placed my first ever order for beans!

x3 Girl Scout Cookie auto feminized (+2 free)
x3 Blue Dream auto feminized (+2 free)

They also threw in x3 Mama Mia feminized. I will hold on to them. I will grow the 10 auto seeds I'm getting in 3 different grows. Probably 3 plants, 3 plants and 4 plants.

When you germ n sprout your autos. Put them in their final pots when they sprout. Then once you get a few nodes. Take some pipe cleaners or yarn or anything soft. And pull them over. The main stem. Lay it over horizontally. And tie it like that. It will let the plant force the lower secondary shoots grow up from the bottom to the top. LST. Then as they get taller than the plant pull them over and tie them at the same height as the rest of the canopy. And keep doing that. That how you bring tops up. And make an even canopy with multiple tops. Then when you have enough tops that you want. Stop and let it grow out. Which it will flower under any light of course. But it will bring up your yield. I've nvr heard of any of those autos. But if your gonna stick to autos. Look at mephisto autos. They have it done right. Their plants yield very very well for autos.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate that greatly. I'm guessing I will receive my beans in 1-2 weeks. Feel free to follow along, i'm sure I could use some help. I definitely want to try the LST.

I've only grown 2 autos. Both yielded very good. I lsted then like crazy. I had a Blue Mammoth Auto that ended up with 44 tops. In a 5gal smartpot. Yielded out the ass. Just keeping bringing tips ups and tie them down. I even pulled them down clear through the stretch in flower. Just be careful not to break them. They will heal. Not always. But a lot of the time.

Day 23

First plant is still 10''. Second plant is 12'' tall. The node spacing is 3x larger on the second plant. the secondary foliage is also not as grown out either. I'm no expert, but i'm starting to think the 2nd plant is a male. The 1st plant has secondary growth that is growing out past the fan leaves, very bushy!! I feel like this plant would just thrive beautifully under the 300 watt LED if indeed the other one is male.

44 tops? holy shit, how much did it yield? And what was your lighting schedule?

Day 29

Day 2 of flowering. Came home to find the taller plant grew 2'', it's now 14'' tall. The plant is still at 11'' tall. Watering today. 1/4tsp each of Fox Farms trio.

I pulled them out of the tent and got them under some good light. I spent about 30 minutes inspecting them with a magnifying glass and a flash light. See some possible signs that support my prediction (short bushy plant female, tall skinny plant male), but still need a few days.

** The very tips of the fan leaves are yellow. I've used grow big 4 times. 1/4 tsp, 1/4 tsp, 1/2 tsp, 1/2 tsp. I mixed up my next jug with 1.0tsp grow big, 1/4 tsp big bloom, 1/4 tsp tiger bloom (first time for big/tiger). But after seeing these tips, I've decided to make up another jug. I will back off and use only 1/4tsp grow big, 1/4tsp big bloom, 1/4tsp tiger bloom. See how they react to that, and increase the next grow big to 1/2tsp if tips recover. I was planning to feed them 3 times with 1.0tsp of grow big. I may end up doing 1/4tsp, 1/2tsp, 1.0tsp to finish out the grow big.

Day 31

Fourth day of flowering. Pretty confident I have one female (13'' tall) and one male (17'' tall). i'll wait til Monday to pull it. I pushed my female in the center of the light, with the other one off to the right.

They were very droopy when lights came on. They were thirsty and waking up, they looked horrible. I was prepared for that when I chose not to water last night. Gave them 1/4 tsp of grow big, big bloom and tiger bloom.

Day 32

Fifth day of flowering. Shorter plant is a confirmed female!!! 15'' tall too! 2 more inches of growth! I spotted at least 10 white hairs popping out at the top of the plant. On the other hand, the taller plant is almost 20'' tall now, but has at least 10 sacs forming at the top of the plant with no white hairs anywhere.

I will give it another day, maybe two, but that one will be getting chopped soon.

My energy is now focused on my one female plant! Vegged for 4 weeks. Lets see what I can yield.

Careful with keeping that male around. Unless you want seeds.

Day 35

Lights will be coming on soon. Temp is sitting at a cool 72.3 degrees with a humidity of 41%. It's been sitting on that for the past 7 hours. I'll upload another pic when the lights come on.

Day 36

Girl is 16'' tall after 9 days of flowering. It's been 60 hours since the last watering, so I gave her a dose of 1/2 tsp grow big, 1/2 tsp big bloom, 1/2 tsp tiger bloom. Their is still some slight yellowing on the tips of some leaves. This will be my last time feeding with grow big, hopefully eliminating that from the water will eliminate the burnt tips. if not, I will have to lower my dose of big bloom and tiger bloom.

Light was about 14'' from plant top. Leaves on top looked a bit hot. Adjustedlight so now it is 22'' away from top of plant. I'm using some additional LED bulbs (x3) for lower and side lighting (65w LED, 10 actual watt).

Day 37

Plant has been on 12/12 lighting for 10 days now. The white hairs have spread to the entire top half of the plant.

Purchased a second 300watt LED light. It will be delivered and hooked up sometime on Sunday. I just feel like the 3 63 watt LED (10 actual watts each) is not enough for the late stages of flowering. I will still run the x3 63 watters, but I will now have two 300 watt LEDs hanging above head.

300watt LED = 132 actual watts
2nd 300watt LED = 132 actual watts
x3 65watt LED = 10 actual watts each, 30 total

That will put me at 294 actual watts. Should definitely be enough light for my one plant to finish flowering. Then it should also be enough to run 2 (maybe 3) autos after this. I could have bought the 600watt LED to begin with. But I suppose this way gives me the option of using only one 300watt LED to veg and start flowering and then switch to both 300watt LEDs when needed.

Day 38

Spent some time with the girl this morning. A few observations. This might be a bit longer post, but i'm doing this for my own personal reference later on. As well as anyone else who is following along.

Noticed some tips are yellowed and curled on some of the smaller leaves around the lower bud sites. The leaves aren't dry, but they very tips are discolored and curled. If I try to uncurl them, the very tip just comes off. Last watering was my last dose of Grow Big. I fed tiger bloom and big bloom twice so far, once at 1/4 tsp and once at 1/2 tsp. I will probably just give plain water the next watering and hopefully it all clears up. All fan leaves and upper growth is fine.

The plant is now almost 20'' tall. My 300 watt LED is about 20'' away from the top of the plant. I can definitely tell that the lower foliage is 30-40'' away from the light. Some of the smaller leaves at the bottom are droopy. I don't believe the drooping is from over or under watering, so i'm going to go with lack of light. Can't wait for my second 300 watt LED to arrive.

I'm happy with the experience and "refresh" this grow has given me so far. It has been 10 years since I had grown anything, so it's been nice to slowly remember little things I did (good or bad) in my past grows. I'll be switching to auto seeds (already ordered, only autos going forward) for my next grow, but it looks like I should be able to make it through the flowering process on this plant (photo) and actually go through the harvest and cure process.

Now that I've got everything I need for the veg and flowering stages, I'm going to get ahead of the game and start getting my supplies for harvesting and curing. I've got some time to do some shopping and get a good pair of scissors/pruners and a good jeweler's loupe. Other than that, I think I have most everything I need.

I've invested $400 into this grow. I should be able to make my money back on this fairly quickly. As well as end up supplying myself with my own smoke. I consume about 1 oz per month and currently pay between $325-$375 for an OZ.
