Difference between generic potting soil and fox farms

So I'm just about to harvest my first grow, which was in a generic organic potting soil from walmart (very cheap) in 5 gallon buckets. They were vegged for 4 weeks then flowered for 9, but grew very slowly and only about 14" tall now (I'm chopping them monday btw). However I started my second grow in a speaker box a few weeks ago, and got some clones from oaksterdam and put them in ffof mixed 50/50 with perlite, and what a difference the soil has made! The new clones have already almost doubled in size in like 2 weeks, they're almost as big as the og kush that's about to be harvested. Granted the new grow has cfls lighting like 4-6 inches away and the old one had T12 lighting like 12 inches away. Just thought I'd share what a difference fox farms soil and good clones from oaksterdam can make.
