Did I stunt my plant with peroxide?

My plants have a bad case of powdery mildew that has taken hold with a recent drop in temps.

So I did my research and decided on trying a foliar spray with 3% hydrogen peroxide diluted 1:2 with water.

It seemed to help a bit, but not 100%

I then tried the milk spray, diluted 1 part milk to 9 parts water.

That worked well, but now I've noticed that a couple plants (a Skunk #1, and an Afghan Kush) have all but stopped budding. The pistils have all turned a dark orange, and I haven't seen any new white pistils, or additional budding since the treatment begin.

They were about 6 weeks into flower when I first sprayed.

Has either the H202 or the milk spray stunted or stopped the flowering process on these two plants?

Or was it more likely the powdery mildew that did it?

The plants look healthy otherwise, but just like they hit the pause button. 8 weeks of flowering is coming up and neither of these 8 week strains look anywhere near swollen enough to even think about harvesting.

Thanks for any tips and advice.

Yeah, but this seemed to happen almost overnight, and this is far beyond what typical reddening of the hairs would look like.

If this did indeed stunt the plant's growth, then what is a safe alternative for controlling powdery that can be sprayed direction on the bud close to harvest?

yea any stress that far into flowering will stunt/stop bud growth. id imagine theres not much you can do during flowering for mildew, especially outside. have you checked the trichomes? is it still too early to harvest?

They're at 7 weeks right now. Haven't check the trichs yet. I keep hoping for a growth spurt, but they may have to come down.

clear up the mildew and let em grow man, might have to wait an additional week or 2 for them nice swollen buds your looking for but at least you didnt lose your crop :)
obviously keep an eye on them and if best judgment says otherwise than well you know what to do :leaf:

IMPORTANT QUESTION:

I've been treating the PM with the diluted milk solution which seems to have stopped all progression. I harvested a couple buds to sample. I gave them a 1 hour soak in 3% hydrogen peroxide, shook off the excess liquid, and then hung them to dry in front of a fan.

So now that the powdery mildew has been 'killed', does that make it safe to smoke? The reason I ask is because the white powder is still visible on some of the buds, even though the spores are technically dead.

Or does the remnants of the PM need to be completely removed before it's safe to smoke?

I hope not, because these buds are sticky, and there is no way I'm going to get the powdery mildew off without also removing the resin glands.
