Designing a cabinet for a Bubbleponics system

Hi all,

I'm almost ready to start my grow up. I've decided to take an easy route to get my feet in the ground by using the bubbleponics system (Roseman's thread was very helpful). Anyways, I was planning on putting it in a relatively small cabinet (it can be however large it needs to be, though) and I'd like it relatively stealthy.

Does anyone have any basic designs or tips for this? I was planning on using the lights I got with the system (dual spectrum II or something). I was also planning on adding a carbon filter, too.

I'd like the cabinet to be as inconspicuous and efficient as possible, and money is not really an issue. Also, anyone willing to give me an estimate for dimensions? I'm probably getting started on building the cabinet today.

Hmm...I started off with one of those bubbleponics kits.

Here's what I found out:

-It's not lightproof, at all. Use duct or aluminum tape (took 3 layers of duct tape for me) to get it light proof. I had to deal with orange algae before I figured this out.
-It's not big enough to support 6 plants unless they're flowered from the get go or something. The average amount of water you need per healthy plant is 3 to 5 gallons. 6 gallons total? Maybe 2 decently sized plants.
-You can build your own bubbleponics/DWC kit for much cheaper and make it much bigger in order to support the amount of plants you want. You can customize everything to your own personal needs.

Anyhow, that said, after my first run I ditched the SH reservoir and just built my own. It's much better.

Homeboxes are good stuff. I've got a Clonebox I was using to SCROG which will now become just my veg chamber. However, a homebox isn't stealth in the way that you could just leave it out. You'd have to do what I do, and stick it in a closet or something. I mean, it looks like a grow box.

I've been using a T5 for both veg and flowering and I'm done. It's good for the vegetative period, but not that good for the flowering. I've got a friend using a 400w HPS for flowering and the difference is night and day.

I'm getting myself a 600w HPS for flowering. Point being, there is a big difference between using CFLs during the flowering period and using an HPS.

Anyhow, just my 2 cents. You're pretty much starting as I started so I wanted to try to save ya some of the issues I had originally.

I would disagree with alot of what you said, REALLY ALMOST ALL OF IT.. I've done 9 grows with the system, with NO algae, and no light getting into my tanks.

I've done 7 grows that I VEGGEd for 5 or 6 weeks, and got 42 to 46 inch tall plants, and have pics to show as proof.

You are all wrong about the required water per plant. THAT IS JUST TOTALLY WRONG. I've seen grows with pics on this site done in a shot glass, in a 4 ounce Dixie Cup, and even in a 8 ounce coke bottle. You might want to read up some more on the system, and using it. There is the BIG Bubbleponis thread here, and the Stealth Hydro site offers a lot of reading and information too. I have grown 6 plants 9 times, Vegging for 5 or 6 weeks, in those tanks. They sell an average of 40 of them a day, and over half of them sold, are sold to pot growers that do grow successfully. Just look at how many people on this site use it SUCCESSFULLY.

Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it. I'm just going to keep reading anything I can until I figure something out
