haze, very herbal tasting, kind of peppery on the tongue.. very easy to taste a mile away once you smoke a lot of haze..

kush, depends on if you're talking about say an og, or say a land race kush like afghani.. if an og, imo, kind of piney, sometimes can also be lemony, depending on the strain obviously.. say tahoe og is more on the piney side ime, and say larry og is more on the lemony side of the og spectrum// very easy to smell and taste a mile away once you smoke a lot of og..
if you're talking about a land race kush like afghani, they tend to be more on the earthy side of things.. think dirt, lol, but seriously.. the afghani i had tasted like it was smuggled out through a camels hump.. not really my cup of tea to say the least.
diesel.. again can be somewhat lemon, or it can just have a really sour funk to it. kind of hard to give it a better adjective, but the sour can be very fitting when it comes to sour d's.
 
Haze has some very distinct flavors associated with it because of good phenotypes that emerged from it and are mostly associated with it - but it can be incredibly variable and there are good phenotypes that do not have that typical incense/peppery kind of flavor people tend to describe.

OG - I'd describe as pinesol like. High on pine with noteable lemon undertones.

Diesel smells like it sounds IMO. Fuel + Sweet and Sour.
