Delisious Critical Jack Herer

Greetings. I started out with hydro and spent a long time learning the curve before starting. I've decided to go to soil after putting a Pineapple Chunk clone in a 1 gallon bag full of just Fox Farms Ocean Forest and seeing the results.

I have some ingredients already kicking around that I'll be using and I was hoping to get some recommendations regarding ratio and the best time to transplant/flip for my specific setup.

This first run is all seeds with 2 freebies - 5th element, and trueberry. One Jack Herer will be used to make a Bonsai mom big enough to do 8-10 clones at a time.

  • 8x7 closet
  • 600watt cooltube vented w/filter
  • passive intake/sealed door
  • summer exhaust vent shoots directly out skylight
  • winter skylight is closed and exhaust helps heat upstairs
  • 1 gallon grow bags in 8" saucers
  • additional 400w T5 only really usable in winter I think(needs testing)
I have the following ingredients:
  • Pro_mix 2cu/f potting soil mix

  • Just Natural organic manure

  • Hydrofarm super course perlite

  • Lime

That will be it for this run, however any suggestions for the next run are welcome. I do also have all my hydro stuff including Dyna-Gro grow + bloom, pro-tekt, aquashield.

Aside from those ratios I'm also looking for suggestions about when to flip. Right now I have two that had the tap root pop out last night. I've heard for a 1 gallon setup anywhere from as soon as the root pops out to waiting 2 full weeks before flipping. What is the census here on that?

Hope you all don't mind, I'm just going to bump this once for the night crew. Right now my biggest concern is a ratio for the ingredients. I have enough info to get a rough estimate what I should use but an experienced suggestion is always preferable to winging it.

I got this recipe from DannyBoy a while back. h depot near me still has some stuff. mb yours too. nurseries will also have stuff. i never used happy frog or fox farms. i'm sure its good but its hot so you have to dilute it. anyway here's what i used:
peat/perlite at 70/30 or promix (same thing)
1 40lb bag composted manure (never dehydrated manure it will burn), or leaf compost...that's your N
10 lb bag worm castings (more N)
1 handful dolomite lime
1 handful epsom salts
1/4 cup azomite
1/4 cup greensand
1/4 cup rock phosphate
1 bag horticultural grade charcoal
humic acid, add as directed or leonardite

i never had any burn probs and never had to add any chemical ferts on my runs which all ran about 8 weeks. if you're growing sativas which take 8-15 weeks you may need some more nutes towards 8 weeks.

also here is subcool's new supersoil mix. i don't use the blood/bone meal because i never let the stuff mellow for a month, i wanted to use it right away. when i mixed in the meals i got some really mean claw:
6 Bags of Roots Organics, 2 Bags of BioBizz Light, 2 bags of Biobizz Coco
25-50 lbs Earth Worm Castings (Wonder Worm)
5 lbs Bloodmeal 12-0-0 (Down to Earth)
5 lbs Fish Bonemeal 3-16-0 (Down to Earth)
5 lbs Bat Guano 0-7-0 (Down to Earth)
3/4 cup Espom Salts
1 Cup Dolomite Lime
2 tbs. Humic Acid
2 Cups of the following:
Crab Meal
Alfalfa Meal
Oyster Shell
Kelp Meal
Azomite
