dehumidifier for 4x8 tent

i am looking to upgrade from a 4x4 to a 4x8 with 2 air cooled 600w in a tent in a garage during winter

i have an eva dry 2200 and it ran 24/7 in the 4x4 so i am thinking of keeping it in the 4x4 for my veg tent.

what size dehumidifer should i get for the 4x8? will a 30 pint be enough? or bigger?
going to be running 6 plants in 7gal soil.
dont want something that is gonna use a lot of watts, as i am limited. i already have to put the two lights on separate circuits.

thanks

Can't help on the dehumidifier size etc, but one cheap/free option is to get a metal container and fill it with water or ice, then keep a fan close to it to keep the metal as cool as possible. Excess humidity will condensate on the cold metal and drop down into a container (or link to a drain).

It really depends on a lot and the specific surrounding 'outside of the tent' environment too in order to determine what's needed. So far, I've had to go by seeing what works for myself for my specific area and sealed environment to even get close to what I want/need in terms of humidity and temp.(a lot of playing with environment specs. etc.)

If you could get a 30 pint running on continuous, that would be a good place to start...For me, that initial drop in temp.(~4 degrees) right at 'lights out' seems to really spike the humidity even with 2 x 70 pint Danby Premiere dehuys roaring full bore the entire time on continuous drip...I mean, it's a sealed environment with 16 good sized plants right now but another one of the key factors, I believe, is that there's not a whole hell of a lot of extra space in addition to the canopy...Another friend of mine has a similar CGE set up with CO2 like myself but doesn't have an issue with the humidity as far as I know...BUT, he has a ton more extra space...mines just enough to barely walk around the canopy area sq. footage.

BUT, I think my rH issue is just the initial spike at the beginning of 'lights out' with that temp. drop which condenses the rH in the air quickly. I mean, I'll run the 2 dehuies and get rH down to low 40's...lights out shoots it up to 60% or even 70 something depending on if I'm there to slow down the initial drop in temp. AND when I'm there, it only spikes in the 60 range...From there, it's running 40's to 50's percentages during 'lights out' as far as I can tell.

You just don't want to get a 30 pinter w/out continuous, only to find out that the reservoir(do 30 pint ones have a rez.?) fills up half way through the night and your rH is sitting high for too long...make sense?

What is the rh in your garage during the winter? Summer humidity is a problem here but, in the winter it's pretty low. Can't you just move room air through there and get the rh down? That machine is pretty efficient and I think that your cubic feet won't be a problem. Good luck!

thanks. last year i saw some spikes to 70% when it rained or snowed outside. but i was able to vent to the attic when it got too high.
my eva dry 2200 ran 24/7 but never filled up over night.

i am in OR. so our RH is low in summer and higher in winter. but its not too bad untill march when it rains almost every day. i grow from oct-may. temps are cold and i hav no problem staying under 75F during the day cycle. at night it can dip down to the 40s.

i think a 30 will be good. esp since i need to keep my amps low.
