deformed, curled, shriveled new growth, any ideas what's wrong?

I got 6 girls growing outdoors here in bright, sunny, socal. I am using foxfarm soil and foxfarm nuets, all was going well until about a week ago and on 2 of the plants the new growth looked like its shriveled up and deformed. The rest of the plant looks great just the tops look like shit. Take a look at the pictures and let me know if any of you had this problem. I've been growing for years and never ever ran into thislet me know if anyone ran into this or have any ideas....thanks

Russet mites?

I'm not sure, I'll have to get my scope out but I wouldn't rule it out. Anybody think its a nutrient deficiency?
