deficiency?

On one of my plants it was looking like a nitrogen deficiency and i let them get pretty dry so about 3 days ago i added a half dose of fish emulsion (5-1-1) to my water and gave them a good water...ph is about 6.5 and just was wondering if it looks like something different or does it take a while for them to recover because it seemed like its a little worse ... also u cant save the leaves that are already dying right? (read that from another thread).. there about 14-15 days old.
2012-12-21_10-04-15_223.jpgHeard it could take up to 4-7 days to recover.

that is not N deficiency , N starts off yellowing the older leaves in a uniform manner form the outside in. not turning dead bread like the outside of the leaf is.

Could be burnage could be K deficiency but not N, New growth is light green not yellow and older leaves aren't yellowing as they should be in an N deficiency

how the hell did I type bread instead of brown........I gotta learn how to pay attention when I type

lol........... k thanks man ill look up some K deficiency and ya gonna move my 85w up a tiny bit ...its 2 plants with 6 cfls around them and 2 85w full spec cfls from the top above them about 2.5-3 inches... wasn't hurting my other plant but might in the future so ill do that now heres the other one 2012-12-21_10-04-36_638.jpga lot bigger for some reason and leaves are sprouting up everywhere on every node.. at least ones doing great lol hope the other can recover

you should not have fed your plants. they are too young to be fed. it looks like a pH problem. what kind of device are you using to measure your pH? and did you test your runoff?

One of my plants did that before. Grew slower than the others and showed a deficiency. Phosphorous fixed mine. I was in early veg stage.

I agrre with urgod. Pretty early for nutes on that one. I would lean toward ph but you said the ph is good huh?

The feeding didn't have anything to do with this it was doing this a couple days before i gave some feed and it was a very small dose at that ... the other plant took off after the nutes, the cotyledon have fell off 4 days before i gave nutes and my soil doesn't have any nutes in it anyways and most people say once that happens your ok to give nutes .. why i got a small ratio and gave it half the str... have ph strips from my work that was .1 difference compared to my digital ph meter...

most people say that their pH is good because they have pH meters. in all reality, pH meters gets out of calibration because people dont maintain it properly. it may say that its 6.5, but it could be 7.2 or worse. either calibrate frequently, or have a dropper as a control to prevent such mistakes.

off to the subject, did you measure the run off on that one?

Ya my doesn't have a calibration it auto calibrates it says.... but the strips a buddy said always worked perfect for him...

No... mistake i made didn't test the run off.. the main meter i use goes in the soil and checks, see if I can get some $ together get one that just tests the water, rather than stickin it in the pot

Hmm.. if you tested the ph and it is fine.. which that double check is good enough for me.. tha small and symptoms either looks like nute burn.. or the fact you said it isn't really growing leads me to think it is phosphorous. Phosphorous deficiency is stunted plant and tip burning.. which you have both. What nutes are you using?.

fish emulsion 5-1-1 and it was doing and showing signs of yellow tips on the leaves about 3 days before even feeding it. Ya thinking it is a deficiency.

keep your lights where they were when I said burnage I meant from soil and nutes not from light. Plants need to be pretty much touching cfl's to get burnt as long as the ambient temp isn't like 100 degrees

K burns outside of leaves more like that than P does that plant shouldn't need barely any P at it's age. it would have to be almost completely void of P to have a P deficiency that young

Potassium burns edges as it progresses if it is a serious potassium you will get pin holes.

but you said you gave it food also so you could have burned it in top of a deficiency

hmm k... ya dunno what to do for it... leave for work in 10mins and it looks even more worse than 5hrs ago..

*looks mostly like a zinc deficiency now from what that pic shows ends are bright orange .. would put another pic up if i had time about to leave.....sigh

Well man my advice would be go buy a micro nutrient product and feed it 1/4 strength. make sure the PH is right too and you should be fine let it grow after that even if it looks like it is getting worse it takes time to get back on track
