Deficiencies and PH in pro mix hp

This second grow I decided to go with hp and some trace elements I added. Plus some lime.
I've, throughout the grow, had issues with potassium deficiency in 2 of 4 plants. I've adjusted my water to ph 5.5 since day 1 for this grow, using vinegar. But when I test the "soil" it's always at 7. I've tested it with a 3 different testers and the result I is 7 every damn time.
So now I'm a bit at a loss on how to get the ph down.

You limed it so 7 is not too unusual and will work. You won't bring down your soil ph with water because the soil out buffers it and always will. Best to get you soil ph where you want it before you start growing as it is difficult to change during a grow.

If you are growing organically, getting myco fungi established is one way to expand the acceptable ph range for your plant. Some organic materials are good at lowering ph, but do so slowly. Research these and top dress.

If you are growing with synthetic nutes, ph them down lower than normal and the soil will buffer the ph up and hopefully you'll get the potassium uptake you want as it rises. Good luck!

I do use synthetic and will try what you suggested. Thank you

Synthetics? Nvm.

pH that sheet to 5.8-6 and drop it. Use real pH down if possible. Castings tea might help.

I have ph down here and used it for a while in the previous grow. I found it a pain to work with. But if you think it might help, I'll use that instead

I use it by the gallon. I pH at 5.8-6.0 but the last couple of weeks been dropping at 6.2 plants like it. Capful per 5ga for me is almost 5.9-6 with current nutes. I also run semi organic so it's fusion ;-).

Good luck. We are here to help.

The thing I always wondered (I had a thread with next to no responses) is when hydroponic growmedium turns to soil, by adding shit. Adding trace elements and eggshell should not have done that. Or am I wrong?

It's greatly appreciated. Maybe, one day, I can help out others too. By learning and observing. Right now I feel too inexperienced to even say anything.

Umm... I don't use coco ;)
But I do use cal/mag and in the last watering a tsp of epsom. Also been foliar feeding epsom and kelp.
That is pro mix yeah? Forgive me if I'm out of scope. Was torching a man sized dabs of sour D at the time.

Sweet! I just had some sour d edibles. Homemade sour d cake pops dipped in sour d chocolate. I'm a lightweight so my spelling will likely deteriorate shortly lol
And yes it is. Pro mix hp

Oh well, I'll still get a good chunk out of this grow. And next time I will just know better.
My girls are way outgrowing the lights and are 3 times taller than in the first grow.

First round looked similar but only 3 plant, so less canopy. And short as fuck. Like 12" maybe lol
Still got over 3 ounces of each. And these are huge in comparison.

What exactly are you using? How much? How are you mixing it?
I use fox farm soil trio at barely 1/2 strength. Calmag... kelp and (so far) vinegar to ph down. Have added epsom last watering. Added epsom solution stirred in and then ph'd it to 5.5
The epsom got dissolved in hot water first.

5 ml calmag
1 tsp epsom
Soil trio as per schedule but at 1/2 strength
Kelp as per bottle.
Vinegar usually gets me right on spot with 6ml per gallon

That's a lot stuff battling each other. I use the cheaper promix with dolomite and perlite added. Currently using General Hydroponics Flora series and that's it. I've used soft water from 4.5 to 7.0ph. 50ppm to 10ppm. I've never checked soil ph. I've also never had the lock your are experiencing.

So judging from own experience with promix. I'd go more simple on the nutes. Maxibloom is popular and after I run out of the bottles. Ill be using that. Never used calmag. Egg shells. Epson salt(unless it was premixed and aged in super soil.) Never needed it.
