....and I sure hope some of you knowledgeable folks can help me out!
I'm working on a hypothetical room that is set up currently as a simple frame of 2"X3" studs. The frame is 8'x4'x7'. The frame shall be located in a room that is just under 13'x10'x7' . There is a 10.7 eer 6,300 btu ac window unit in the single window in the 13x10x7 room. The growing area shall be outfitted with two 600 watt lights with electronic ballasts (ballasts to be located outside the growing area) the lights have aircooled hoods.
I had hoped that by placing the grow room within the air conditioned room that I would be able to cool the growing space adequately. I'm now having second thoughts and believe that it would be best to butt the room up directly to the window unit so that it is directly cooling the grow area.
The hypothetical growing area is to be located within a fairly antiquated single wide 3 bedroom two bath trailer.
So, at this point I'm having to decide how to cool the lights and vent the room. Currently I have a single 6 inch 340 cfm inline fan that was purchased to clear the air from the 214 cubic foot growing area. I have been told that running a carbon filter with vented hoods will tend to cause carbon dust to dirty up my hoods and I really don't want that. So, I'm thinking of getting another of the same 6 inch fans to cool the lights.
So, where do I ultimately vent the room exhaust and the light exhaust?
There is a single heating vent locate in the floor of the trailer that I could use to vent the spent air from either the room exhaust or the lights but I think it's just too small to vent both. This should cause outside air to enter through the other windows in the house.
I don't like the idea of venting beneath the trailer due to paranoia that the meter reader person might hear it (although the skirts around the trailer are mainly intact). I'm also paranoid about it being something that might look odd on FLIR.
So, what about just venting both to the 13x10x7 room containing the grow area? Would this be a bigger energy expense than venting under the trailer due to the ac unit in the grow area having to cool warmer intake air? Would a 160 cfm inline for the lights be a better idea or should I get the 340 cfm and a fan regulator?
I know I'm thinking this to death but want to do this the right but secure way and hopefully the first time.
confused. Much thanks for any suggestions from experienced folks!
