Decarb

Do you need to decarb dried flower before infusing with coconut oil? Surely the infusing process will also decarb the cannabis?

Anyone have any experience infusing coconut oil with dried cannabis?

.

We make a coco oil / cannabis mix with some bud every grow, we always decarb to be sure we're getting the maximum potency.

We use a Magical Butter Machine for extraction, 160 Celsius for 2 hours. You'd think that would decarb the bud but I'm not sure so I decarb to be sure.

So i decarb as well , in the oven at about 110cel for an hour and then do an indirect steam bath thingy in a glass bowl for about 4hrs, its cbd strain to be clear… 15% cbd 0.5% thc kind of strain. I think i we’ll try a bottle without decarbing first and see how it affects me..

Lots of people do it all different ways, lots of ways to skin this cat.

Personally over time ive found it easier to infuse and decarb in one step, watching it carefully at roughly 280f. Takes me 30 mins about. 45 mins if im doing lower temp.

With flower, i like to do a lower temp for longer to be sure i infuse it well.

I noticed this works better for concentrates, but does work well for bud also. I think decarbing bud then infusing for longer may get you a slighly more potent batch than doing it all in one step, but i find it easier and get satisfactory results.

I use Coconut Oil exclusively. Personally it's easier on my stomach than butter. Also it helps to get the refined one (less coconut flavor).

I ended up getting this guy because I was wasting so much product trying to get the decarb right in oven. Oh and much to my surprise you can infuse any oil based product as well (like cocunut oil). I paid around $100 and I know I wasted at least that much trying to decarb using dyi methods. I got mine off of Amazon.
